Reiki is a form of energy balancing and healing. The result is to experience deep relaxation, a release of pent up stresses and the ability to regain physical and emotional balance. There is another indescribable quality to Reiki - it takes you into your own deep silence and peace.

If you are facing an emotional or physical challenge, I strongly encourage you to find a Reiki practitioner and get a session. So much of your stress can be held in your energy field and Reiki can help to clear it out.

While I lived on the west coast I served on the San Diego Reiki Corps for five years, providing Reiki sessions to patients with cancer at Sharp's Memorial Hospital in San Diego. This was a phenomenal experience. At first I was taken aback when I saw patients in various stages of cancer. But over time, I learned to let go of fear, grief, of any thought projections that kept me from enjoying each session as it happened. I began to love working the in hospital. Patients were often surprised by the instant peace they felt with Reiki. Reiki is also great support for all family members.

I strongly encourage anyone with a serious illness to receive regular Reiki treatments. I also recommend that their caregivers receive Reiki treatments. Reiki is not a cure but seen as a complementary healing practice. I recommend that you try it out for yourself.

As a Master Reiki Practitioner, I also train new Reiki practitioners. With the first level of training which takes only a weekend, you are able to give yourself and others Reiki treatments. This is especially great for caregivers and patients alike. The cost for training is $200 and must be done in person.

I used to give Reiki almost daily to my dear spiritual teacher, Mother Sarita, who taught me new ways to do energy healing and offer counsel. She lived to be 98 years old and stayed strong until her passing. I look so serious here but really we were always in-between giggles. The quality of her life was high because she lived with so much love and humor.  Alas, I only have this photo of me working on her feet. I know she would laugh at that!

Here's a good photo of Mother Sarita, giving counsel to one of her students. The student went on to earn her Ph.D and Mother Sarita went on to be inducted into the Hall of Fame of the San Diego Women's History Museum and Educational Center. Now that's living life to the fullest!
